Job Summary
Shall have a minimum of a Master's degree in econometrics, finance, or related technical fields such as mathematics, engineering, operations research, statistics, computer science, or an MBA or MFE, and demonstrated experience of at least four (4) years in data analysis, statistical data analysis and reporting of research studies. The key personnel shall also demonstrate experience using advanced analytic techniques such as modern econometric methods, machine learning, multivariate statistical analysis, clustering and segmentation, experimental design, optimization and text analytics.

  • At least one year operational/regulatory financial analysis experience is preferred.
  • The analyst should have deep experience in managing and integrating large datasets using a variety of software packages.
  • The key personnel should have programming experience using one or more of the following: SAS, VBA, STATA, MATLAB, Mathematica, Perl, R, SPLUS, Python, or SQL. Experience with Python, R and/or other scripting languages is highly desired.
  • The key personnel shall also demonstrate experience with SQL-type and non-SQL type databases, knowledge and experience in a systems environment, such as MS Windows, Linux, and UNIX, that facilitates manipulation and processing of data is also required.

    I believe I am a perfect fit for this statistical programming position. Here’s what I bring to the table:

    • More than 10 years of experience with SAS and SQL programming. I’m a SAS Certified Advanced Programmer.

    • A master’s in financial economics and successful completion of Ph.D. level econometrics courses.

    • 2018 CFA Level III Candidate.

    • A very deep mathematical background and years of experience with many different kinds of quantitative modeling. I’ve helped Ph.D. experts opine on: regression analysis, cointegration analysis, GARCH models, DSGE, option pricing models, etc.

    • Experience with other statistical programming languages: Stata, R, VBA, Python, R, MATLAB. I’ve used just about everything.

    • Certified in C++: C Programming Language Certified Associate

    • Outgoing and engaging personality. I’m good at giving presentations.

    • Dedicated and obsessive attitude toward work.

    • Currently serve as a project manager for small teams of data analysts.

    • Experience cleaning, analyzing, and modeling very large datasets–with billions of observations, terabytes in size.

    • Willing to Relocate to anywhere in the United States.
