Vendor Management Analyst
Jackson MI
9 Months Contract (Very high possibility of Extension)
The Vendor Management Analyst supports the efforts of developing, promoting and facilitating all aspects of the IT vendor management program. The Analyst will monitor & report vendor performance and adherence to contractual requirements; support the alignment of the organization's vendor management practices to its strategy; and help identify & realize opportunities for contract cost reduction. This role reports up to the IT Vendor Management Lead and will be required to work closely with internal IT business partners and Suppliers.

  • Responsible for analyzing monthly Service Level Management reporting and working with Managed Service Provider counterpart to deliver accurate reporting.
  • Analyze and report on vendor performance to contract (e.g., service level agreement (SLA) attainment or deliverable schedule adherence), proactively identifying areas for correction or enhancement of value-add (such as where a vendor continuously meets service levels).
  • Track and report on IT services category contract renewals to ensure timely execution of renewals or terminations.
  • Review IT services Statements of Work for form and content to ensure quality and mitigate risk to Company.
  • Identify and track vendor issue escalations and resolutions. Participate with business partners in resolving escalations.
  • Conduct and / or participate in account reviews with strategic and other selected vendors to ensure business relationships are fostered and maintained. Formulate and implement strategies to improve customer / vendor relationships with strategic and other selected vendors. Determine opportunities where such vendors can improve performance and / or lower cost.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners and actively represent the VMO. Serve as a point of escalation to resolve contract or vendor performance issues and serve as a liaison between the business and Supply Chain to come to agreement on contractual issues.
  • Design and maintain documented policies, standards, processes, and procedures necessary to accomplish the functions of the position.
  • Provide training, as appropriate, to business partners on VMO policies, standards, processes, and procedures.


  • Advanced complex reporting & analysis skills
  • Advanced written & verbal communication skills 
  • Understanding of vendor management principles and practices
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution capabilities
  • Understanding of and ability to write IT Statements of Work
  • Strong computer skills (SharePoint, Excel (e.g. Pivot Table and vLookup), Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, ServiceNow).
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Understanding of IT outsourcing contracts and governance of outsourced contracts
  • Relationship management skills
  • Experience in managing IT vendor contracts preferred

Bachelor's degree in business management, supply chain, Information Technology, or a related field.  IT Vendor Management experience (4 years) may be substituted for education. 
Professional experience of 3-5 years in related field is required.
